Who is Isabel?

Isabel is a determined and gutsy kid. She is fiercely competitive and always prepared to have a go. She takes hair raising risks speeding around in her wheelchair and gets involved in every opportunity that presents itself – including singing auditions, sports carnivals, competing in the hurdles and long jump, the swimming carnival and attending the Wheelchair camps where she knows noone. Everyday she inspires her family and friends with her acceptance of her physical limitations, her optimism and perserverance.

She attends a local girls’ school, and is actively involved in all areas of the curriculum with one of her favourite subjects being PE. She loves her teachers, does well in all her subjects, and is regarded as an intelligent and thoughtful student. Reading is a favourite pastime where she buries herself into the world of fantasy . She loves her Labrador Noah – a failed Assistance Dog, and the family’s 2 kittens – Sparkle and Jingles.

Isabel has a younger brother Charlie. Whilst they have a healthy dose of sibling rivalry they are good mates. They hang out together playing with their pet crabs and cats. They play tennis and share opinions on their favorite books. They share a lot of favourite movies – Star Wars and the Harry Potter series differing in interest when it comes to The Twilight series.
