Goodbye to an inspirational man – David Prast

A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things that renew humanity" Buddha We are very saddened by the passing of David Prast last Wednesday 22 nd November 2011. He was a truly inspiring and remarkable man – a gentleman, who was very courageous and fearless in his quest to ensure that spinal cord injury research and exercise intervention was made available to as many SCI patients as possible.

We had the privilege to know David and Issy benefitted directly by his vision to create better health outcomes for those like her and himself affected by Spinal Cord Injury. It was because of David’s thorough understanding of the leading world Spinal cord injury programs that we mustered our courage and took Issy to the USA Project Walk Program in 2009 from which she has both achieved and benefitted.

As a Director of Spinal Cord Injuries Australia it was David’s inspiration to bring the Project Walk program to Australia which is now established in 3 states with the 4 th centre to open in Melbourne January 2012. We are eternally grateful to him and he will forever be in our hearts.

Those who attended the Mirror Ball will remember David as The Wish to Walk guest speaker.

A man of courage, inspriation and great warmth.
